Your Ozempic dosage increase plan

How to increase your dosage correctly

When starting Ozempic, your body may need time to adjust to the medication. Gradually increasing the dose helps reduce the likelihood of side effects when beginning the treatment. By starting with a lower dose and slowly building up, the body can acclimate to the medication’s effects on appetite, blood sugar regulation, and digestion.

Building schedule Ozempic

  1. Starting Dose 0,25 mg:
The initial dose of Ozempic is typically 0.25 mg once a week. This is a starting point to help your body get used to the medication. For the first four weeks, you’ll only be taking the 0.25 mg dose.

Goal: Allow your body to adjust to the medication and reduce the risk of side effects.

  2. Increase to 0.5 mg:
After four weeks, your doctor will likely increase your dose to 0.5 mg once a week. The increase in dosage helps further control blood sugar levels and can enhance the medication’s effects on weight loss by further curbing appetite.

Goal: Reach an effective dose for maintaining blood sugar levels and promoting weight loss.

  3. Increase to 1 mg:
This dose is often recommended for individuals who have not yet achieved their desired weight loss results with the lower doses.

Goal: Enhance weight loss results by improving appetite control and promoting more significant fat loss.

Transitioning to Higher Doses with Wegovy

Once you have reached the 1.0 mg dose of Ozempic, it is important to evaluate your clinical response, including weight loss progress, appetite control, and overall tolerability. For many individuals, 1.0 mg provides sufficient therapeutic benefit. However, if weight loss has plateaued or appetite suppression is no longer adequate, the dosage can be increased to Ozempic 2.0 mg once weekly, provided it is well tolerated.

The 2.0 mg dose delivers a higher amount of semaglutide and may provide additional benefits in terms of appetite regulation, caloric intake reduction, and continued weight loss. Any dose adjustment should be made in consultation with our medical team, taking into account your treatment goals, response to therapy, and potential side effects.

  1. Increase to 1 mg:
This dose is often recommended for individuals who have not yet achieved their desired weight loss results with the lower doses.

Goal: Enhance appetite control and begin promoting more substantial weight loss.

  2. Increase to 2 mg

If, after a period of treatment on 1 mg, your weight loss has plateaued or the appetite-suppressing effect is no longer sufficient, it may be possible to increase the dosage to Ozempic 2.0 mg once weekly.

Not everyone needs this higher dose. If 2.0 mg provides the right effect, it is possible to remain on this dosage and continue the treatment without transitioning to another medication.

The decision to increase should always be made together with our medical team, based on your progress, side effects, and treatment goals.

Goal: Further improve appetite control and support continued weight loss when 1 mg is no longer sufficient.
